The current COVID-19 emergency seems to be warning governments worldwide that new crises of unforeseeable nature are likely to emerge, as the combination of environmental degradation, societies with increasing inequalities and deep economic interconnections have made the world more vulnerable. In these circumstances, ensuring the resilience of our society is crucial.

Μια από τις παρεχόμενες υπηρεσίες της Βιβλιοθήκης της Βουλής (ΒΒ) είναι η ενημέρωση σε θέματα Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Η ΒΒ αποτελεί και Κέντρο Ευρωπαϊκής Τεκμηρίωσης (ΚΕΤ)-Europe Direct, παράλληλα με άλλα ΚΕΤ που λειτουργούν επιλεκτικά σε όλη την Ελλάδα, κυρίως σε Πανεπιστήμια.

Τα Κέντρα Ευρωπαϊκής Τεκμηρίωσης έχουν ως στόχο να ενημερώνουν σχετικά με τα ευρωπαϊκά θέματα, έτσι ώστε οι πολιτικές της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης να είναι γνωστές και προσιτές στους Ευρωπαίους πολίτες. Επιπλέον έχουν την ευθύνη να οργανώνουν, να συντηρούν, να ενημερώνουν και να καθοδηγούν προς την απρόσκοπτη πληροφόρηση για την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, την νομοθεσία και τις πολιτικές της.

Το έργο καταγράφει και αναδεικνύει τις πολιτικές διαδρομές των προσώπων που συμμετείχαν στους πρώτους αντιπροσωπευτικούς θεσμούς που συγκροτήθηκαν την περίοδο της Επανάστασης και κληροδότησαν ένα δημοκρατικό πλαίσιο λειτουργίας στο νέο κράτος.

Parliaments are currently subject to the same public health and social distancing measures as schools, places of worship or businesses. Yet, in a time of crisis, the role of parliament is more vital than ever to pass emergency laws, allocate resources and scrutinize government action. So how can parliaments continue to function in a time of pandemic? This question and answer presentation explores some of the approaches being taken by IPU Member Parliaments around the world.

Η Βιβλιοθήκη της Βουλής στο πρώην Δημόσιο Καπνεργοστάσιο, στην οδό Λένορμαν 218, ανοίγει τις πόρτες της για να περιηγηθείτε  το βιομηχανικό κτήριο και να γνωρίσετε καλύτερα την Βιβλιοθήκη, τον πλούτο των συλλογών της και τις υπηρεσίες της.

Το Παράρτημα της Βιβλιοθήκης της Βουλής που στεγάζεται στην οδό Λένορμαν 218 επισκέφθηκαν μέλη της Επιτροπής Βιβλιοθήκης και συνεργάτες τους, την Τετάρτη 12 Φεβρουαρίου 2020. Την πρωτοβουλία και την οργάνωση της επίσκεψης είχε η Πρόεδρος της Επιτροπής Βιβλιοθήκης κ. Άννα Μάνη Παπαδημητρίου.
